Greg Grunert has emerged in recent years as one of Brisbane’s leading junior litigators in the fields of commercial litigation and insolvency law.  He is recognised by clients and colleagues as a trusted lawyer whenever a matter requires the best available resources.

Notable matters

  • Regularly engaged by liquidators to advise on a broad range of insolvency issues including PPSA vesting provisions,

  • Acting for bankrupt individuals throughout bankruptcy to successfully negotiate with creditors obtain annulments.

  • Acting for directors of the Vac Group Pty Ltd to successfully restructure a corporate group through voluntary administration and a deed of company arrangement of, saving over 100 jobs.

  • Acting for a defendant in a long-running proceeding involving 17 defendants and tens of causes of action seeking hundreds of million in loss and damage.

  • Acting for the successful liquidator to have certain transactions declared unfair preferences within the meaning of section 588FA of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth): Trenfield, in the matter of ACN 089 008 668 Pty Ltd (in liq) v JMD Park Pty Ltd [2019] FCA 2154.

  • Acting for the successful administrator to obtain an adjournment of a winding up hearing pursuant to section 440A of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth): State of Queensland v David Oriel Industries Pty Ltd (Administrator Appointed) [2019] QSC 191
